Call 07762 200339 — any hour, any day
RG Locksmiths covers the whole city from our base in Huntingdon. Ring us and you will speak to a locksmith, not an answering service, at any hour of the day or night. We will ask where you are, what has happened and what kind of door it is. Then we will give you a price and tell you honestly how long we expect to take getting to you.
Cambridge is roughly half an hour from us on a clear run, a good deal longer at peak times, and we would rather be straight with you than promise the impossible.
What happens when you call us
- You describe the lockout and tell us your address or postcode.
- We confirm the price and the likely arrival time on the phone.
- We attend with the right tools for that door and lock type.
- We open the door without damage where we can, and advise on the lock before we leave.
What we can help with
- Locked out of a house, flat, student room or business
- A key snapped off inside the lock
- A jammed or seized lock that will not turn
- A broken uPVC door mechanism or handle
- A damaged lock after a break-in, and securing the property the same night
- Lost or stolen keys — the lock replaced the same day
Where in Cambridge we work
We attend across the city and the surrounding villages: the city centre and the areas around the colleges, Mill Road and Romsey Town, Chesterton, Arbury, Trumpington, Cherry Hinton, Histon, Girton, Fen Ditton, Milton and Great Shelford. Tell us the postcode when you ring and we will confirm straight away.
Students, renters and landlords
A good share of our Cambridge work is for tenants and the people who let to them. If a key has gone missing or a lock has been damaged, we attend, open the door without damage where we can, and replace the lock on the same visit. Landlords and letting agents: we are happy to work through a management company, keep the paperwork tidy, and quote per property if you have several to do.
What it costs
You will be given a price before we set off, and that is what you pay when the job is done. The price depends on the time of day, the travel and the work involved. Ring us and we will tell you plainly.
No call-out fee. Prices are quoted before we set off, and held for two weeks. DBS checked and fully insured. Non-destructive entry wherever possible. Genuine 24/7 cover — weekends, bank holidays, Christmas and New Year.
Our typical full emergency lockout attendance is from £110–£150, plus any parts and VAT.
Why people call us
- DBS checked and fully insured
- Non-destructive entry wherever it is possible
- Real 24/7 cover — including Christmas, New Year and bank holidays
- Local tradespeople who also do carpentry and building work
